100#: This body of work includes eleven wheel-thrown ceramic pieces, an accumulation of byproduct scraps, and the board used to wedge / blend the clay with. The eleven ceramic pieces are textured, unglazed, and consist of a transitional blending of Whitestone and Brownstone clay bodies. A parameter was set to utilize one hundred pounds of the two clay bodies to blend, create forms, and recycle / repurpose scraps so that all of the material went through the ceramic process. In its displayed state, the eleven forms are situated in a subtle gradient of their blended clay bodies, with the fired ceramic scraps occupying the remaining space.

Slip Drip: These wheel-thrown vessels were created to contain this idea of binary tactility; ‘binary’ as a whole composed of two and ‘tactility’ as just something perceptible to the touch. The slip drip application used on this work plays into this idea of binary tactility, creating an added, abrasive textural flow atop the smoother, base texture of the vessels body. Within the installation of the work, Foamular constructed pedestals were fabricated to enhance the viewing and recpricate the idea of binary tactility.
